Went to 28 Degrees on Saturday night with my wife and 2 sisters. I was sort of expecting the typical south end, trendy spot experience, and while it was trendy, it wasn't typical. The environment is very cool, and I mean cool - blues, grays, blacks, very fluid and liquid kind of theme. Really soothing. The music was OK, but I especially liked the part when I heard Dianna Krall playing over the house speakers, and I looked towards the flat screen on the wall, and on the curtain by the bar, to see her playing on stage (video of course). That was very cool. Now, the food - well, that's something I could talk about. The food was insane! It wasn't immediately apparent to us that the menu was sort of like tapas and the waiter had to explain that to us. We ate like royalty! The food was AMAZING. They blew me away. Also, I found the staff very nice. Again, not typical of most South End spots. The whole experience was totally pleasurable and I'll go back anytime.
