A real nice spot for a campground, S of Keene NH...an eclectic New England college town with the widest Main Street this side of Barcelona Spain, featuring a nice river that can be canoed or kayaked into town from the campground under covered bridges...or a nice Rails to Trails recovered railroad bed for pedaling...the area is the Covered Bridge Capital of New England, it is said.
The campground is mostly an open grassy area with trees along the river with mostly tent sites, but enough electric/water sites and a substantial, clean washroom. CampKeepers Mark and Annette work hard to maintain a quality place with a big recreation barn, magazines, trails...lots of soccer balls, and the price is right. During our 4 day sojourn, I witnessed the CampKeepers dealing with some rowdies, deliberately and tactfully maintaining a respectful atmosphere for everyone else in the campground - not an easy task!...earning my admiration forever.
The only complaint may be that there is some road noise from Rt 10 across the river, but be assured you'll be glad you spent some time at the campground.
