In these days of fast-paced living carpet problems do occur. These problems can be installation related issues or a type or form of damage. Hi my name is Jason, having years of experience in the carpet industry means I understand your carpets construction. I can provide a carpet repair thats based on industry standards. My repairs are surgical to your carpets damage. I have the precise tools for cutting, repairing and refitting of your carpet. I am not afraid to cut your carpet. I will not botch your carpet repair unlike most DIY jobs or most carpet cleaners. give me a call and save yourself the time money and grief.

*Carpet Stretching*
Does your carpet need stretching? Does your carpet have wrinkles, ripples, and lumps? Are you tired of tripping on them?
Are you asking why is My Carpet Wrinkled? This is a question that I get all the time. The most common reason why your carpet has wrinkles is because your carpet was NOT installed correctly the first time. Carpet installers who are looking to cut corners and save money at your expense will tell you that you can install carpet using a knee kickers OR a dangerous spike that accually damages your carpet.
Knee kicking will NOT work on any area larger than 3×3. In order to install a carpet properly, you need a full length power stretcher. This is the tool that I use on all my carpet stretching and installation jobs.
Another common reason to why your carpet has wrinkles is because it has become detached from the tack strip for som reason.
This type of installation failure happens alot.
I use a power stretcher because it allows me to properly stretch your carpet. It uses leverage and stretches the carpets backing from one wall to the opposite wall. This does NOT require that the room be completely empty of all furniture.I have methods and tools to safely move most anything. A properly stretched carpet should be “drum-tight” without any excessive slack. A carpet that is drum tight will not develop wrinkles or ripples over time. Besides any visable wrinkles pinching and picking the carpet up in the middle of the room will tell you if it is fitted well or not. The carpet should snap quickly back into place. If it doesn’t, you need to stretch your carpet. Today’s carpets need to be power stretched  – not just knee kicked as I’m sure many people have seen.  Power stretching is done with a specialized tool that spans the room and attaches and pushes the carpet. That allows for the trimming and proper refitting of your carpet. Much like a canvas drawn over a frame like art. According to the carpet and rug institute all new carpet installations must be power stretched a large number of installations are NOT properly stretched.
Before you attempt to do it yourself.
Stretching a carpet may not be as simple as you would think. Some of the challenges at hand are typically
Will I need to re-do seams?
Best room by room repair approach?
Will furniture need to be shifted around or are closets involved?
Will the overall condition of the carpet effect the result of the repair?
When you hire me to do your repairs, you’re hiring a carpet expert who takes pride in his work and will not take short cuts that give a sub-standard repair.
For that simple reason I insist on using a  power stretcher every time.  It takes longer but I can guarantee it is permanent. The quality of my repairs are unmatched.
So whether it is wrinkles in the family room, Pet damage in the doorway (Where it's dug out.) Snags and runs in the Berber carpet, burns in front of the fireplace, or any other repair thats need, let me take care of it for you.

I called jason to stretch our carpet in a few spots where it had buckled and created ridges. Jason showed up exactly on time at 8:30am which was surprising because we live in Midtown, Atlanta and most contractors arrive late due to delays with morning traffic. I was quickly provided an estimate, which was very reasonable, and he got to work right away. I was impressed that Jason helped to move furniture around and he completed the job quickly. It was also interesting to see that he had tools which the original installer of our carpet did not have (maybe this is the reason it needed to be re-stretched). We also asked for a quote to install new carpet in our basement and stairwell. We will definitely have him come back out to complete the carpet installation. As a side note, I was happy with the ease of setting up an appointment and the great communication when I had to move the appointment date.

Jason did a great job! Not only was he on time, courteous and very reliable, but his prices were very reasonable. We used him to stretch the carpet as well as to fix a burn mark. We would use him again and would refer others in need of carpet repair.

Jason work is a testament to this 5-Star rating. He is very reliable and spends time doing the job correctly, the first time. He places patches in the carpet so well that  afterwards, it was tough to find the location of the repairs!  He also installed new carpet for us and did a great job. Very nice man and I am thankful we chose Jason.  He is also fairly priced.

  ***General Carpet Terminology***

Carpet is most commonly found in two types of construction: cut pile and loop pile. Each construction offers various styles to choose from.

Cut Pile: This carpet gets its durability through the fiber used, the density of the tufts, and the twist of the yarn. There are four popular styles to choose from: textured plush, Saxony, frieze, and cable.

Plush: This has a smooth and even finish, providing a more formal look.

Textured: This style uses low density fibers of uneven heights. The resulting look hides dirt with an informal look, but it is not suited for high traffic areas.
Saxony: This has a smooth and even finish, but the fibers are longer than a textured plush, and the fibers have a twist. Though this is the most popular style of carpet on the market, it has a tendency to show footprints and other marks more than other carpets.

Frieze: This carpet style features long fibers with more twists, so the resulting texture is informal. It hides foot prints and other marks easier than other carpets, but is generally not suited for high traffic areas. If the piles are longer, it is called "shag."

Cable: This style of carpet is made with thicker and longer fibers to provide a more "cozy" feel to the carpet when walked on.

Loop Pile: Loop pile carpets do not cut the yarn tips, making the loops visible. They are durable in construction, and are considered an "all-purpose" carpet. There are various styles to choose from including: level loop, patterned multi-level loop, and cut and loop.

Level Loop or Berber: This carpet style features packed short looped fibers. This provides a durable surface for high trafficked areas with an informal appearance. Some color flecks in the fiber may make it easier to hide dirt, but the height of the fibers may make the seams more visible.

Patterned Multi-Level Loop: This carpet style features loops of varying heights to create a texture and or pattern.

Cut and Loop: This carpet style is a mixture between cut pile and loop pile fibers. The variant makes for a textured appearance that is ideal for highly trafficked areas. As an added bonus, this type of carpet also hides dirt and stains.

Nylon: This is the most popular fiber type used for carpeting. There are two different kinds of nylon used to make carpeting: nylon 6, and nylon 6,6. Nylon is present in roughly 60% of all carpets sold in the United States. During manufacturing, dye is added to produce a variety of colors. Nylon is a highly durable fiber, resistant to wear and tear. It is generally not a stain repelling fiber, though treatments are available to help protect it against staining. It is a conductor of static electricity, and when left in direct sunlight for long periods of time, will fade.

Olefin: This fiber is not as resilient as nylon, but it is less likely to fade. It is a strong fiber that is resistant to wear and tear. This is an ideal fiber for any outdoor carpeting use because it is resistant to mold and mildew. This is not a comfortable carpet to walk on with bare feet. The seams of the carpet fibers may be more visible than with other fibers.

Polyester: Polyester is increasing in popularity because it is a more cost effective option than other fibers. It is not suitable for highly trafficked areas, because it is less resilient than nylon fiber and is more likely to show damage and fade. If used with a thick cut-pile construction, it has a soft feel.

Acrylic: Acrylic is not a widely used fiber, but it provides the look and feel of wool based carpets, without the expense. It is not a major conductor of static electricity, and is resistant to mold and mildew.

Wool: Wool is the most expensive fiber in the carpet market today, because it is the only natural fiber used in carpet production. It feels good against bare feet and is highly durable. It is stain and dirt resistant, but will fade easily in direct sunlight.
Blends: Blends of these fibers are used to improve the overall quality of carpet in terms of look and feel, and durability. The most commonly used blends are wool and nylon, and olefin and nylon.

Carpet Types: Distinguishing the Differences
Carpet can be grouped into three primary constructions; loop pile, cut pile, and cut and loop pile. Each of these construction types may be used in the home; although cut piles represent the largest market share for residential carpet. Loop pile carpets, such as Berber, have been increasing in popularity over the past 10 years. Cut and loops represented a significant portion of carpet sales during the 1970s and 1980s, but cut and loop usage has been reduced considerably.

Loop Pile Carpet
All carpet actually begins as a loop pile and the loops are cut during manufacturing to provide the cut pile appearance. As the name implies, cut and loops are a combination of cut loops and uncut loops to provide texture or patterns. Most cut and loops are primarily cut piles with some loops left uncut for patterns; although a few styles utilize the opposite effect.

Cut Pile Carpet
Cut pile constructions can be used in both residential and commercial carpet installations. However, cut piles are used far more widely in residential applications and comprise the largest share of the residential market.
