Cheated and swindled.
That pretty much sums up my feelings after doing business with David's Vacuum's in Mayfield Heights, OH.
I went in with a still-under-warranty Oreck that wasn't running quite right. The repair estimated came to $182. Given how we always viewed Oreck's and our past experience, we figured it was worth the investment.
The work was done quickly, and we picked our vacuum up two days later.
We realized we were scammed as soon as we plugged it in. Sparks flew out of the vacuum, and it began overheating to the point where it seemed to be a fire hazard.
We returned to the store, where the salesman - Larry - basically said we shouldn't have opted for the repair and instead bought new. (So much for Orecks being a long-term ands reliable vacuum option, huh?)
We left the inoperable vacuum there, as Larry said they'd look at it and get back to us. That was almost two months ago. We're not holding our breath.
In all of my years as a consumer, I've never felt as misled by a store. Don't believe a word from someone at this shop or fall for their we're-here-to-help you front.
David's Vacuum's doesn't deserve your trust or your business. Consumers, beware.
