Ed's Gun Shop in Deptford, NJ is the closest thing I have found to a Mom and Pop gun shop. The atmosphere is comfortable and low-pressure. I stopped in to shop when I first found the place and there was no hurry. I asked questions for 20+ minutes and the owner stayed with me the entire time (and knew what he was talking about!)
When my father passed away, he left me a very nice old lightweight double barreled shot gun. Unfortunately, the trigger mechanism had broken and my Dad hadn't enough interest to have it fixed. I didn't know where to go to have it fixed, but Ed's Gun Shop was the place where I took it. The gun was fixed and back in my hands in no time,and it was repaired by Ed's son, so the shop may be there for a long time to come.
Prices are good, and if you can't find what you want, they will be happy to quote a price and order it for you.
I go nowhere else these days!
