The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit corporation supported by tax-deductible donations. We are dedicated to the creation and maintenance of a responsible and humane two- and four-footed community. We provide for and protect abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted animals and promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and people. We ensure that the pets that are living here “temporarily” are treated as though this were their permanent home ensuring medical care, food, a warm bed, toys and most importantly, plenty of love. Our ultimate goal is to find loving homes for all our pets. Because we receive no city, state or federal grants, no United Way funds and no funding from National Animal Welfare organizations, the Humane Society for Greater Nashua relies solely on community-wide support, our fund raising endeavors, bequeaths, general donations and in-kind gifts. The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is a private non-profit organization dedicated to serving the animals and people of the Greater Nashua community since 1900. The society operates a full-service shelter in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Foster Program Opportunities Every year the Humane Society for Greater Nashua cares for thousands of felines. We are frequently in need of loving foster homes for pregnant cats and kittens too young to survive on their own. Foster Homes should have a separate room or area to house shelter animals. Many cats in need of foster care are strays that have an unknown health history, and keeping shelter cats away from resident cats will decrease any associated health risks. All foster cats have tested negative for Feline Aids and Leukemia virus and are given all appropriate vaccines before placement in the home. In addition to a separate room, many foster parents choose to provide all necessary supplies. However, the Humane Society for Greater Nashua will provide any materials required for the care of the foster animal. Additional Programs include Pet adoption, Pet therapy, Seniors for Seniors, Pet Sponsoring
