Jim Wildman is a contemporary artist, painter, and craftsman based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born in Spokane, Washington, in 1964 and formerly of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jim is known for his stunning watercolor and ink drawings of beautiful faces, as well as his abstract and landscape oil paintings and 3D wood combines and sculptures. His signature technique involves layering lines, colors, plaster, gypsum, wood, and other textures, including sawdust, on canvas and paper to create a rich and nuanced mixture of overlapping shapes and colors. With every piece, Jim adds unique marks and textures, ranging from sawdust to metal items, to create an alluring depth and texture.
