Founded in 1999, NvisionNewport Beach (formerly TLC Newport Beach) is led by Tom Tooma, M.D., the founder and medical director of Nvision Laser Eye Centers. He has performed more than 100,000 LASIK procedures. Dan Tran, M.D., provides specialty cataract consulting and Intraocular Lens surgeries. He has performed more than 50,000 procedures. Nvision Newport Beach is the flagship location for all of the Nvision Laser Eye Centers and boasts the largest facility with the most laser equipment. Its open-access policy allows outside ophthalmologists to perform surgeries in its surgery center. Nvision Newport Beach also coordinates with major pharmaceutical companies, including Alcon and Allergan, on clinical trials. It has recently completed trials in various areas of refractive surgery, including inlay technologies and dry eye issues. In addition, Nvision Newport Beach’s Eye Institute of Newport Beach provides specialty cataract consultation.
