Omotayo Akinmade, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and completed his post graduate training and residency at the State University of New York Health Science Center, Department of Family Medicine. He received his board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine. He is available to treat urgent care illnesses. Dr. Akinmade previously managed patients from infants to the elderly in the Primary Care Department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic. He has also worked at the National Youth Service Primary Healthcare Center in Katsina, Nigera and at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the New Hampshire Academy of Family Physicians. His focus includes preventive medicine and the treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease. Dr Akinmade believes that his patients are vital parts of the healthcare team and emphasizes the patient-centered medical home model in which the patient-provider relationship is critical for success. He believes in treating the whole individual where patients are real people with real needs. In his free time, Dr Akinmade enjoys spending time with his wife and two young kids. He also enjoys football, tennis and soccer. Dr. Akinmade welcomes new patients and accepts most major insurance plans. We are excited to welcome Dr. Akinmade’s new nurse practitioner, Paula Gonzalez Reinemer, to his care team.
