About us

William Statton, M.D., earned his undergraduate degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College and his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Statton is board certified in general surgery. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Statton worked in private practice for over 10 years. He is a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgeons of the Alimentary Tract and the Society of Surgical Oncology. As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Statton’s special interests include minimally invasive abdominal and thoracic surgery as well as robotic surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Statton enjoys reading, writing, being outdoors, travelling the world and spending time with his wife, Tiffany, and their six adopted children. He has gone on medical mission trips to Mexico, Jamaica and Kenya.
