Welcome to Roslindale

Roslindale Village, also known as Roslindale Square, is a neighborhood in Roslindale, part of the City of Boston, Massachusetts. Bordered by Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, West Roxbury, Mattapan and Dorchester, Roslindale Village is a quaint and blossoming small business and residential community formed by the intersection of Washington Street, Cummins Highway, and Corinth Street.

Just six miles south of downtown Boston, Roslindale was annexed to the city in 1874. It's believed that the name "Roslindale" was named after the historic town of Roslin, Scotland, outside Edinburgh. John Pierce, who suggested the name, thought the area was like a dale because of the hills surrounding it, hence Roslindale. At the center of Roslindale Village is Adams Park where concerts are held often throughout the summer.
