Junior SEO Associate at CitySquares

CitySquares, a growing Internet company in Boston’s South End is seeking to fill a full time Junior SEO Associate. In this role, for investigating, troubleshooting, remedying, and deploying key SEO tactics and strategies on behalf of CitySquares as well as our clients. You will be trained in search engine optimization techniques, the nuances of CitySquares’ proprietary SEO architecture, and basic HTTP, PHP, and MySQL development as well as Internet marketing techniques. Some client interaction may be required so excellent verbal and writing skills are prerequisites. This position is a wonderful opportunity for a junior-level technical enthusiast looking to move into SEO. To be considered for this Junior SEO role you must be meticulous in your attention to detail and take pride in your work. You will work closely with CitySquares engineers, developers, and consultants and learn about SEO, development, engineering, and more.

Responsibilities

The work will primarily include the following:
• Assist in identifying, troubleshooting SEO tactics and bugs
• Work with existing systems to improve upon SEO
• Will ultimately take the lead in managing the day to day SEO elements of the website
• Work with the lead engineer to integrate the necessary code and SQL
• Ensure development standards, best practices and site technical quality are met and maintained
• Research new technologies; contribute to SEO idea sets and execution plans

Experience and Requirements

• Understanding and knowledge of HTTP error codes
• Knowledge of an entry-level experience with PHP and MySQL
• Knowledge and understanding of website architecture
• MySQL and database schema knowledge
• Knowledge, experience with source/version control systems and structured deployment practices a plus
• Must be results driven and goal-oriented
• Working knowledge and experience and with the Internet, especially Internet community and social media sites and concepts
• You must want to work in a fun, casual, and innovative environment where hard work and achievement is recognized and rewarded
