Position Summary
Dual responsibility for managing national online ad sales as well as individual accountability for direct sales and new business development at the client, CMFR, and agency levels. Responsible for the full sales cycle of ad sales and maximizing CitySquares' revenue opportunities.
New Business Development and Expansion of Existing Accounts
- Generates leads, targets prospective clients and requests meetings to make pitches and presentations; pre-qualifies potential clients to assess financial viability and overall account potential
- Responds to and follows-up on sales inquiries in a timely and attentive manner
- Reviews all prospect and client company profiles to ensure that conflicts of interest do not exist within advertising sales (e.g., competitor advertising)
- Responsible for maintaining client business relationships to obtain repeat business and expand existing business; creates account plans for key accounts and executes against plans
- Develop, implement and maintain a national online ad sales program
- Negotiate and manage client commitments and expectations
- Provide analysis for ad-hoc executive management reporting
Effective Sales Cycle Management
- Works with prospects and existing clients to determine current and future advertising needs
- Identifies the most appropriate online advertising solutions for clients and makes recommendations for programs and time
- Negotiates and sells online advertising solutions to national advertisers, CMRs, and ad agencies, using pricing parameters
- Communicates advertising and contract arrangements to the client
- Closes deals; responsible for obtaining executed contracts and agreements
- Responsible for ensuring payment on accounts
- Provides accurate information to administrative staff to process orders
- Provides customer service support to clients and assists in the resolution of any issues
- Responsible for completion of weekly pipeline reports in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
- BS/BA Degree preferably in business administration or related field
- Must have a documented track record of success in both sales in the consumer segment
- minimum five (5) years of national and online ad sales experience
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing sales programs and delivering successful results
- Clear understanding of current trends and solutions in local online advertising
- High tolerance for ambiguity demonstrated in the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, responsibilities, and business needs
- Demonstrated leadership, motivational and influencing skills
- Willingness to travel
- Demonstrated ability to meet and/or exceed annual revenue goals
- Able to formulate sales strategy and individual account strategies and execute against them
- Takes initiative and proactively plans for and around accounts
- Innovative and creative in approaching clients and getting deals done
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed influence and negotiation skills; persistent and persuasive
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and organized
