Being that I moved up here from the South I'm pretty picky about my BBQ. Redbones in David Square is bar far the best BBQ in Boston. Such a big selection, any type of ribs you want, sweet tea and fried okra what more could a Southerner or a Bostonian ask for?

Just had my first meal at Redbones last night and it did not disappoint. I went for the St. Louis Ribs and collard greens which were super tasty. Topped it off with a couple of Belgian beers and life was pretty good. Being a chilihead I was psyched by Andy K's review below of the Atomic Corn Relish so I had to try it but I wasn't a big fan. It's pretty hot but it doesn't have much flavor, so I would avoid it unless you are looking for a novelty dish to fry your friends' tastebuds. Overall though Redbones Barbeque is fantastic.

I hadn't been to this place in at least ten years before I met a friend there for dinner a few weeks ago. It's every bit as great as it was. Comfortable...great BBQ...unbelievable beer selection...and knowledgeable, friendly servers. This is one of the few places in the Davis Square area that caters to everyone...from young families in the dining room to singles in the busy, narrow bar. I just love this place.

I love Redbones! I've heard other people say that they think there is better barbeque to be had in the area (like Blue Ribbon in Arlington). But, even if that's true, the food is great and it's a fun place to eat. There tends to be long waits on weekends and many weeknights, but if your stomach can wait (which mine can't all the time), it's worth it. BUT, beware of the Atomic Corn Relish!!!! I tried only a small bit and started to sweat and hiccup immediately. Might be a fun trick to play on a friend by suggesting they try it...

Even as a vegetarian, Redbones never fails to fill me up. Their veggie burger is AWESOME - it might be the fact that it's covered in cheese... but that works for me. And they have the BEST homemade salsa around!

Love these guys. They give a discount with Jimmy Tingle's comedy club, which is cool. They deliver -- on bikes, that's cool. They insist on giving you free bones for your dog if you want 'em, very cool indeed.

Redbones is, by far, one of my favorite places to eat in all of Boston. Great atmosphere, great beer on tap (I mean, an amazing selection of beers I've never heard of), and killer meat selections. Great place to go after work, or with the family for a little fun. Service is great too. Just an all-round fun and great time, every time.
