Meet Brendon Curtis, MD
Brendon Curtis MD attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, where he graduated with honors.
After graduating medical school, he completed a General Surgery residency at Wayne State University/ Detroit Medical Center. There, he received the Goldman Humanism Honor Society Award for his commitment to medical education and the compassion demonstrated towards his patients. Dr. Curtis also received the Surgical Leadership Award in recognition of exemplary work ethics. He remained at WSU/DMC, and subsequently did a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship.

Dr. Johnson has been performing vein procedures for over 20 years, and he has helped over 5,000 patients take control of their veins. He grew up in Florida and South Carolina, and attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his general surgery residency and was named Chief Resident in Surgery at the University of Florida.
He then completed a fellowship at Duke University specializing in minimally invasive surgery techniques. He moved to Atlanta and joined the Vein Center at Johns Creek in 2006. He serves as director of the Vein Center at Johns Creek, a post he has held since 2008. Dr. Johnson is certified through the National Board of Medical Examiners, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Johnson has taught courses on the latest techniques in the minimally invasive care of venous diseases. This has included teaching surgeons on a variety of standard procedural techniques, as well as updating surgeons on cutting-edge technologies. His interests include the treatment of venous reflux disease, minimally invasive surgery, and weight loss surgery. Dr. Johnson has served numerous hospital roles, including Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of General Surgery at Emory Johns Creek. He serves as Medical Director at the Atlanta General and Bariatric Surgery Center (AGBSC).

Atlanta Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Michael Williams attended the University of Maryland. He graduated Magma Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. The University of Maryland Alumni Award, certificate of academic achievement, and the National Collegiate Natural Science Award. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine.
At the Brooklyn Hospital Center, Dr. Williams underwent surgical training. There he earned the laparoscopic resident of the year award. He also earned a scholarship for achieving the highest score in the resident in-training exam. He continued his training with a minimally invasive surgery fellowship from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. His laparoscopic skills are exemplified by his awards in the laparoscopic skills shoot out competition at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress in 2001 and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons meeting in 2002.
Dr. Williams principal clinical and research interest include minimally invasive surgery techniques and surgical treatments for morbid obesity. Dr. Williams actively trains surgeons in laparoscopic techniques in the United States and the Caribbean.. He has authored numerous medical journal articles, book chapters and poster presentations.

Dr. Hart is the Chief of Staff of Emory Johns Creek Hospital and serves as the Medical Director of the Atlanta Bariatric Center at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Prior to founding Johns Creek Surgery/Atlanta Bariatrics he served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine and was a founding member of the Emory bariatric surgery program.
He is a native of Atlanta. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Hart attended medical school at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. He performed his surgical residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, finishing as Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Hart has been practicing surgery in the Atlanta area for over 15 years.
Dr. Hart has been named one of America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America and was chosen by his peers as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors. He has taught courses on the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management of bariatric patients, as well as taught and proctored other surgeons on new techniques in weight loss surgery.
Dr. Hart is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress. He is a member of many other medical and surgical societies, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. Dr. Hart is the President-Elect of the Mayo Clinic surgical society – the Priestley Society. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Emory Johns Creek Hospital and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Emory Clinically Integrated Network.
