About us

Heather M. Staples, MD, received her medical degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee and completed her residency in pediatrics at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. She completed fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology.

Dr. Staples’ clinical interests include cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and rare lung disease. She is the director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center and engages actively in cystic fibrosis research. She is a supporter of resident education and currently serves as Director of Pediatric Resident Quality Improvement and Research.
