Reviews
Ace Chimney just capped a chimney for me, involving a piece of sheet metal with two feedthroughs for attaching the ducts to a fireplace insert down below, some brickwork to separate that flue from another one in the same chimney, some mortar around the rim, but no cover for the second flue (a miscommunication, I suppose), and some scratch and tuck to fix the flashing that had been improperly installed by a previous contractor. The sheet metal, approx 1 ft X 1.5 ft and no thicker than 1/32 inch with two beer-can sized cylinders for feedthroughs, cost $380 (custom-made!), the labor $450 (for two hours of work for two guys) and the cost of the bricks and mortar brought the total to $1200. Is this reasonable? I paid up, but - I don't know...
