About us

Albert E. Odom, MD, earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, where he served as chief resident. He is board certified with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Odom's special interests include painful menses, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, endometriosis, robotic hysterectomy and robotic myomectomy. He is one of the original members of Prisma Health Baptist Hospital’s committee for robotic surgery and is one of the most experienced gynecologic robotic surgeons in Columbia. He is the first gynecologist in the Carolinas to perform laparoscopic radiofrequency ablation of uterine fibroids (Acessa ProVu).

Dr. Odom is a member of the American College of OB/GYN, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and is past president of the Columbia Medical Society. He has privileges at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital and Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital, and practices at Prisma Health OB/GYN – Parkridge.
