About Alex Kartvelishvili M.D. Alex Kartvelishvili, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained retina specialist. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Hunter College, CUNY, New York, New York. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York, where he also completed an internship and ophthalmology residency. Finally, he completed a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at Valley Retina Institute in McAllen, Texas. Dr. Kartvelishvili has been seeing patients with Wolfe Eye Clinic since 2015.
