About us
Hello, my name is Allan Farquhar, MD, and I am a board-certified ophthalmologist and clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Florida. I was raised in upstate New York and after high school, went on to graduate from undergrad and medical school at the University of Vermont, where I met my wife, Cara. Following medical school, we moved to New York City, where I completed a residency in ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. I was inspired to become a physician based on my father's career as a board-certified ophthalmologist and general surgeon. From early childhood onward, I watched how much his compassion and understanding made a difference in his patients and in our community.
