Dr. Self-Stoico graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Drew University in Madison, NJ before completing medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey (UMNDJ, now Rutgers) — Medical School. She then did her pediatric residency at UMDNJ—Robert Wood Johnson during which she received the Mercy Ungino Compassionate Doctoring Award. She had the honor of being Chief Resident there, too.
