About us
Alfredo started selling Truffle, Cheeses, seafood, and cured meats years ago. He would drive across New York and sell to restaurants and gourmet shops directly from the van. The cheeses came from small farmhouse producers and the products were often seasonal. Alfredo explains, 'he wanted to attract head chefs who designed the menu around the best produce available.' This approach won him a loyal clientele and built a good reputation, as has his decision to use small producers who work in an ecological if not organic way. With the wholesale business established, the company expanded into fine food markets including goumet-famous food stores in the Country.
Today Alma Gourmet, Alfredo along with a small and passionate team continue to run the business from the warehouse in Action. With the same purchasing philosophy at heart Alfredo traveled to mainland Italy, in search of more high quality and artisan produce. We now offer an extensive product range, which maintains a balance between the classics; Parmigiano Reggiano, numerous Prosciutti di Parma, outstanding Gorgonzola Dolce, sought after 100% buffalo milk Mozzarella di Bufala, Burrata and the more specialist niche.
Alma Gourmet supplies products such as fresh white and black Truffles, Porcini, Morels, Chantarrels, Pecorino Toscano DOP, Parmigiano Reggiano, Burrata, Riso Vialone Nano IGP, Parmacotto Salumi, Piacenti Tuscan Salumi, Galloni Prosciutti, Pasta di Gragnano, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and many more to your delight. Alma Gourmet aims to import the most authentic food products that are officially protected under European Union regulations for DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) and IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta).
