About Jameetri “Jay” Washington After studying electrical engineering for two years at Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, TX, Jay Washington redirected his skills to the retail industry. He was in retail management for one of the largest retail chains in the United States before joining American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) in 2013. Jay was drawn to AIL by the opportunity for financial independence, but his personal life experience also played a part. “My father passed away when I was 17, and we were not in the place we needed to be,” recalls Jay. “With AIL, we are able to make certain that families don’t have to suffer financially through those hardships.
