Andrew Leigh Freeman
About us
Dr. Freeman is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at University Hospital. He completed medical school at the University of Colorado in 2005, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah and ultimately joined the faculty here in 2008 as a full time Hospitalist. His clinical focus includes caring for patients who require hospitalization on the general medical wards with a wide variety of medical conditions. He has developed an interest in the optimal treatment of patients with healthcare associated pneumonia that may be due to resistant organisms. His additional clinical interests including assisting patients and families with difficult symptom management and complex medical decision making as a consulting physician on the University Hospital Palliative Care Service. Dr. Freeman also assists with research and consultative support for patients with blood clotting disorders as part of the University of Utah Thrombosis Service.
