As a therapist, I feel the beginning stages of a therapeutic relationship are the most crucial aspects to successful therapy. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space to work together with the client to implement and achieve therapeutic goals and healing. Everyone has strengths, but it can be challenging to notice them during difficult times. It is my job to bring to light the strengths and resources the client already has while simultaneously bringing awareness to the connection between the ways he/she thinks, behaves, and feels. I often tell clients they are the experts of their own lives. I am simply here to guide you along your journey to help you become the person you want to be.

I earned a Bachelors degree from Purdue University with a major in Psychological Sciences and went on to complete my Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. I have experience providing counseling services to adolescents, teenagers, and adults in residential, inpatient, and outpatient community mental health settings. Applying a strength-based approach, I work to meet the individual needs of each client through consistent assessment and evaluation. A few of the approaches I utilize most often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Therapy.

It can be difficult to work on mental health issues if physical health is lacking. I am an advocate for making personal health a priority and I, myself, try to implement this into my daily routine. Outside of the office, I enjoy being physically active (both in the gym and outdoors), cooking new recipes, and spending quality time with family and friends.
