Aquaporins Inhibitor
About us
Major intrinsic proteins (MIPs) or aquaporins (AQPs) are synonyms that are often used in literature. Protein-based water permeability of plasma membranes has been the major focus in AQP research long time before the first member of a solute transporter, the Escherichia coli glycerol facilitator GlpF, was functionally characterized. Today, many examples for multifunctional AQPs exist, which confer not only water but also gas and solute permeabilities. AQP channels facilitate the diffusion of a wide range of neutral solutes such as water, glycerol and other smalluncharged solutes. More recently, AQPs have been shown to allow the passage of arsenic and antimony compounds. https://www.bocsci.com/tag/aquaporins-aqps-70.html
