Arun Swaminath, MD, is an accomplished gastroenterologist and the director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Program at Lenox Hill Hospital within Northwell Health. With a primary focus on treating patients with Crohn's disease and colitis, He holds a Professor of Medicine appointment in the School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.He oversees a multi-disciplinary IBD Center that provides patients with access to world-class surgeons, dieticians, and IBD pharmacists. This center attracts trainees from across the tristate area who come to learn from the exceptional team. His dedication to advancing the field of gastroenterology is evident in his numerous original clinical, translational, and review articles that he has authored. In recognition of his expertise, Dr. Swaminath is frequently sought after as a speaker in the area of inflammatory bowel diseases and has made appearances on television news and has been featured in numerous print and online media outlets. He has also made significant contributions at a national level, served as a chair of the NYC Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Chapter Medical Advisory Committee and as the co-director of the American College of Gastroenterology's IBD School.
