About us
Afsaneh Shirani, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurologist with Saint Luke’s Neurology. Dr. Shirani has advanced training in treating multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological disorders. Her clinical interests include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease, autoimmune encephalitis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, neurosarcoidosis, vasculitis of the central nervous system, neurological manifestations of rheumatological disorderslupus-related neuropsychiatric syndrome, paraneoplastic neurological syndromes, and other autoimmune-related conditions of the central nervous system.
Dr. Shirani is committed to advocating for people with multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological disorders, particularly those from underserved and underrepresented populations, and strives to use her expertise and resources to support more equitable care.
Dr. Shirani believes that care should be built on clear communication, collaboration, and a strong commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based medicine.
