Atstathi Indoor Soccer School (AISS) has a mission to provide the girls and boys of the Bronx and surrounding communities with a more affordable and still competitive sports organization that allows them to excel and grow as players and people. To coaches, (AISS) offers the opportunity to lead a team in a non-political and liberal environment with sole focus on the kids’ development as soccer players We support youth soccer in the Bronx as a medium to enhance children's confidence and leadership skills, promote teamwork, and contribute to a brighter future for them. Combining the benefits of soccer and schooling, (AISS) partners with Bronx communities to improve opportunities for Bronx schoolchildren. Each year the league provides a venue for over 400 kids to participate in both recreational and competitive soccer programs. (AISS) is open to all children ages 4 through 14 in the Bronx community. Our program is designed to introduce the sport of soccer to youngsters living in communities not yet served by existing clubs or leagues. We are committed in helping each kid reach their full potential by providing personal attention, skill development, and quality instructions. Our objective is to help all players reach their highest potential. We start them on the right path, set their dreams in motion, fire up their imagination, and leave them empowered to reach those goals. Our coaches are master teachers whose demonstrations include demanding instruction, step-by-step clarification, and playful joking to bring out the most sensitive technical points for children to grasp and imitate. They have a great understanding cognitive, psychosocial, and motor development of youth, knowledge about components of physical fitness and appropriate training principles, knowledge of sport and physical activities including skills, rules, officiating techniques for a variety of activities. Creating a warm, supportive atmosphere for children and seeing as role models, our coaches are exemplarily good leaders for our program. The Coerver Training System we use, inspired by the teachings of Wiel Coerver, Dutch coach of the 1970, was created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian and Chelsea Great, Charlie Cooke.
The Pyramid of Player Development

BALL MASTERY - Exercises where each player works alone with a ball at repetitions using both feet.
RECEIVING & PASSING - Exercises to improve a player's first touch, so important at all levels, and to encourage and teach accurate and creative passing.
MOVES (1 v 1) - Exercises and games that teach game - winning individual moves that can create space against the most packed of defenses.
SPEED - Exercises and games that improve acceleration, running with and without the ball and change of pace.
FINISHING - Exercises and games that teach technique and encourage instinctive play.
GROUP ATTACK - Exercises and games that improve small - group combination play with emphasis on fast break attack.

The Pyramid Approach combined with the Coerver Coaching philosophy of graduated pressure allows players to quickly gain confidence and progress through the interconnected levels of the game.
