I fought… Initially I started kickboxing in Cameroon, winning numerous amateur fights. It was during one of those fights, I caught the eye of the coach of Cameroon’s boxing team. I began fighting, training, and traveling with the Cameroonian teams. And winning. I won several key fights and titles during this stage. I was then granted the opportunity to travel with the team to the United States. My path could have most definitely ended at this point. While the opportunity arose, I had no way to fund it. You see, many of the fights I won paid very small amounts, $5 or $10, sometimes a whopping $20. Through the grace of God and kindness of others, I was able to raise the money for my flight. And the story continues as I made my way to the United States. Shortly after my arrival I began training at a local gym, Combat Sports Center. It was there that I trained every day, many times twice a day. I have had numerous fights, in a variety of different styles, muay thai, boxing, kickboxing, and some MMA. Kickboxing is my strength. 2013 was a culmination of hard work and determination, and not just in fighting. Early in the year I was granted the opportunity to fight in a Road to Glory Tournament in NYC. The tournament winner would gain a multi fight contract with elite kickboxing, Glory Sports International. It was an eight man tournament, the winner would end up fighting three fights in one night. I prepared through intense training, with the addition of prayer and fasting. Yet again I experienced the favor of God. I was victorious! Three fights in one night, two ending in knock outs! Additionally a $20,000 purse, a far cry from the $20 I had won for a similar tournament years earlier in Cameroon. And so my story continues with Glory Sports International. The ride has been like a roller coaster, with its highs and lows, most notably a disappointing loss in my fight against Raymond Daniels at Glory 16. However, throughout it all I have constantly kept my eyes on the prize, a Welterweight Contender Tournament and a shot at the title, a championship.
