There’s a saying, “Once a nurse, always a nurse,” and I find it apt. I naturally fell into representing nurses and other health professionals in need, usually with malpractice matters and license defense. It isn’t hard for me to empathize and imagine what these nurses were going through while their ability to practice nursing was in question. I’m licensed to practice in Indiana and Illinois, however by partnering with other nurse attorneys and attorneys I help nurses nationwide get the legal support they desperately need. I have been licensed to practice law for over 30 years. I graduated from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, formerly UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. I have lived in the San Francisco bay area since moving here for law school. I grew up in Chicago and finished college in London. My law practice includes representing health care professionals before the Board, as I have a special place in my heart for nurses and other health care professionals. I love to be active. I was an avid skier, roller skater and blader. I used to religiously do a 12 mile skate through San Francisco every week, called the Friday night skate. Yes, it’s as challenging as it sounds, hills and all. Knee and other orthopedic issues sidelined me from these activities. After my less than stellar skiing and skating stints, I was able to join a Brazilian samba-reggae drumming band where I play a bass drum. It’s challenging for me, as we have to memorize the songs and choreography for each song. We hope to have more gigs as the world opens up more. Lastly, I am on the board of an arts nonprofit called, Immersive Arts Alliance. We are dedicated to presenting large-scale, free community art.
