This was my first boat purchase and I learned the hard way. I bought a used run about boat at Cal Marine and was told everything was maintained perfectly, additionally they said their mechanic went over it. After using the boat a few times I started realizing problems. To sum up what happened is that they didn't disclose that the following expensive repairs were necessary: trailer brakes didn't work, trailer axle was severely bent (damaged tires resulted), starter on the engine was incorrectly installed and needed immediate replacement, throttle linkage on the motor needed repair, they didn't use a water separating fuel filter on the engine, skegg was cracked, and they installed an old junk prop on the boat. I would never recommend this place!
