Michael R. Murray, President, has been a Kansas lobbyist since 1997. Murray's background includes managing numerous political campaigns and serving as the Chief of Staff to former 3rd District Kansas Congress woman Jan Meyers. Murray began his lobbying career with Sprint continuing with Embark. In 2010 he opened his own contract lobbying practice, Capitol Advantage, LLC. The firm's current clients include Ash Grove Cement Company, NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, CenturyLink, the Kansas Roofing Association, the Retail Grocers Association of Greater Kansas City, Kansans for Wind Energy, the Kansas Food Dealers Association, the Sherwood Improvement District, Husch Blackwell, LLP, and the Kansas State Rifle Association.Karin Brownlee, Government Affairs Consultant, served 14 years in the Kansas Senate and nearly two years as Kansas' Secretary of Labor.. As a member of the Senate, Brownlee chaired the Commerce Committee, was Vice Chair of Financial Institutions and Insurance and was Chair of the Committee on Claims Against the State. Her other committee assignments included Utilities, Assessment and Taxation, Federal and State Affairs, Transportation, Administrative Rules and Regulations, Confirmation Oversight, Select Committee on Business and Labor, Joint Committee on Economic Development and the Joint Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice Oversight.
