About us

Capoeira is a unique martial art that combines the driving rhythms of Afro-Brazilian music with intricate kicks, dodges, take-downs, and acrobatics. Our beginning program is all about taking the raw student and developing with them the strength, rhythm, instincts, basic martial arts kicks, and music skills that are key to advancing in capoeira.

The roots of capoeira are founded in Africa and were developed in Brazil into the art form that is enjoyed by millions around the world. As one of the newer martial arts in the US, capoeira groups are still relatively sparse compared to other arts. Capoeira Oregon is part of the CapuraGinga schools of Brazilian capoeira in the US and Brazil. Our schools are overseen by Mestre Loka of Mines Gerias Brasil.
