Carl L. Backer, MD, is a pediatric heart surgeon at Cincinnati Children's specializing in operations involving congenital malformations of the heart. He has a special interest in children with vascular rings and is the Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Kentucky Children's Hospital. Dr. Backer is dedicated to providing the best possible heart care and has performed over 6,000 congenital heart procedures.
