About us

Dr. Caroline Lieux Sowell, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, earned her Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2015 and her Medical Degree from LSU Health and Science Center School of Medicine - New Orleans in 2019. During her time in medical school, she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society and awarded the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement Award for graduating first in her class. In 2023, Dr. Sowell completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, which has been ranked as the nation's number-one Ophthalmology training program for more than 20 years. She continued her training with a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery, finishing in 2024.

Dr. Sowell is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
