The name Castell comes from the Catalan word for 'Castle' as well as the aptly named Catalonian tradition in which teams work together to build towers of people standing on each others shoulders - called castells - stacking nearly forty feet high. The name reflects the bar's aerie in the sky, as well as its Spanish roots; originating in Madrid, Spain by founder Antonio Catalan.
