About us

No other cardiology practice in Central New Jersey is quite like Change of Heart Cardiology. Founder Scott R. Eisenberg, DO, FACC has developed a practical program for heart patients over the past 11 years that he calls Proven Total Care (PTC). PTC includes the traditional medical treatments you would expect from board-certified cardiologist, such as invasive and non-invasive testing, angioplasty, stents and medical management of heart and vascular disease, heart failure and palpation. PTC also explores evidence-based alternative and complementary therapies for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. PTC helps patients learn their heart risk and fight it, rather than waiting for an event to happen. Credentials Count Dr. Eisenberg holds three sets of credentials to give his patients a broader perspective on heart disease. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine; certified in lipidology (the study of cholesterol analysis) by the American Board of Clinical Lipid Specialists and certified in the exciting field of anti-aging medicine by the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. This practice has always been oriented to being able to prevent disease, not just treat it, says Dr. Eisenberg. Many patients are reluctant to sign up for a lifetime of medication. We help them understand what works and what doesn't. We explore alternatives and integrate proven non-traditional methods where appropriate. For example, with expanded lipid analysis we identify the quality of cholesterol and other hidden markers that predict early disease. I tell my patients I'm a plumber and can unclog the drain, but I'd rather prevent the clog form forming. My associates feel the same way. Dr. Eisenberg's partners include Robert Kayser, MD an interventional cardiologist who specializes in peripheral vascular medicine, and William DiLorenzo, DO, a non-invasive cardiologist who is board certified in echocardiography. We all believe that follow-up care is as important as diagnosis, say Dr. Eisenberg. Our job is to help prevent future problems and take care of them if they occur.
