CHILDREN’S DANCE THEATER & PRESTIGE DANCE STUDIO PROUDLY ANNOUNCES THE ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF THE NUTCRACKER
October, 2017- Children’s Dance Theater & Prestige Dance Studio, premier studios that are well known for their excellence in the area of providing age appropriate choreography, costumes and music that challenges dancers to achieve their personal best in a positive and rewarding environment proudly announces the 6th annual production of The Nutcracker.
Performance will take place on Friday December 1st at 7:30pm and Saturday 2nd at 2pm and 7:30pm at Columbia Jr High PAC 2901 54TH Ave E, Fife WA 98424. This years cast incorporates dancers from all over the Puget Sound including Auburn, Covington, Tacoma, Fife, and Federal Way.

October, 2017- Children’s Dance Theater & Prestige Dance Studio, premier studios that are well known for their excellence in the area of providing age appropriate choreography, costumes and music that challenges dancers to achieve their personal best in a positive and rewarding environment proudly announces the 6th annual production of The Nutcracker.

We also have about 100 parents volunteers who help backstage with costumes, set, props and handful are onstage in the adult roles of the ballet” said Stephanie Cox, the owner and choreographer of Children’s Dance Theater & Prestige Dance Studio.
The Nutcracker is the story of a girl named Clara who receives a nutcracker from her godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer. That night, her Nutcracker comes to life and wages a fierce battle with the mouse king. Clara saves the Nutcracker by throwing her slipper at the mouse king. The Nutcracker was able to kill and defeat the mouse king because the mouse king had been distracted.
The Nutcracker and Clara travel through and enchanted snow forest to the Land of the Sweets. They are greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and the other candies from around the world. The divertissements dance to celebrate Clara’s heroine actions. Finally Clara has to say goodbye and awakens back at home with her Nutcracker.
The dancers and their families enjoyed the experience of last year so much that they are eager to be a part of this year’s performance. Children’s Dance Theater & Prestige Dance Studio provides a distinct professional calibre experience at half the cost and without one having to go through the hassle of going into the bigger cities. They also proud to receive a grant from the City of Fife’s tourism board that has helped their production to be an extravagant event. This enchanting production brings to life the classical tale featuring backdrops by Maureen Wilhelm and Cynthia Olson.
