
Christina Frater, M.S.
About us
Christina Frater is a pediatric and inpatient genetic counselor at Weill Cornell Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in psychobiology and minored in society and genetics. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. During her graduate training, Christina completed a Precision Medicine Fellowship and conducted an independent study with CureSMA. Her thesis explored the terminology genetic counselors use when describing intellectual disability and developmental delay to patients.Before entering graduate school, Christina worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Stanford University School of Medicine, working on neuromuscular and neurogenetic conditions. This experience galvanized her passion for rare diseases, health policy, and advocacy in genetics, as well as her commitment to advancing precision medicine and therapeutic innovation—interests she now brings to her role at Weill Cornell.
