The Church of the Good Shepherd is an evangelical church associated with the PCA. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ on the northwest side of the Research Triangle, calling them into a devoted community of worshiping and maturing brothers and sisters and sending them out into this culture and across cultures to be salt of the earth and light to the world to the glory of God.
In 1986, 56 people gathered for our first worship service at Ephesus Elementary school in Chapel Hill. After holding services in Githens Middle School (starting in 1989), we moved to our current location, Garrett Road in Durham, on Jan 22, 1995 with more than 400 people in attendance. Since then we have currently have grown to about 750 members and have planted several churches in the Chapel Hill-Durham area as well as having sent missionaries around the world.
