In 1984, Dennis Cooper opened Cooper's Automotive in a small garage in Erie, Colorado. In 1990, he moved to a larger facility in Lafayette and employed two new technicians. In 1996, he moved to his current location, which has six service bays. In 2009, Cooper's added two oversize service bays. In 2022 Brian Bates purchased the shop when Dennis was ready to retire. The shop is proudly still locally owned and operated.
