About us

Since 1865, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC), formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center, is New Jersey’s oldest nonprofit, nonsectarian hospital. The 597-bed institution is one of the largest health care providers in the state, treating more than 32,000 inpatients and 80,000 Emergency Department patients each year. As New Jersey’s only certified burn center, CBMC draws adult and pediatric patients from all over the state. The Renal and Pancreas Transplant Division is the fifth largest Living Donor Institute in the US and largest Kidney Transplant Program in the Northeast. The hospital has a Perinatal Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Breast Center, Cancer Center and Heart Center.
