Patient Testimonial below, (see website for others), and play the video to the right..... 'After 35 years of chronic back issues and discomfort I was about to schedule another appointment with the same back surgeon who had offered me the X-stop procedure for spinal stenosis several years back. I could no longer walk without pain. I had heard good things about Frank Pugni from a friend and decided to see if he could help me to avoid surgery. Frank eased my discomfort right away and gradually, using multiple therapeutic techniques, eliminated my pain and got me walking my usual 2 mile route again. Best of all he taught me exercises that help me to deal with my back and keep it from disabling me.' -- Carol H.Tampa TREATMENTS OFFERED: Neuromuscular therapy Trigger point therapy Myofascial Release Muscle energy techniques Active isolated stretching Joint mobilization Pelvic stabilization Deep Tissue Massage Electro Accupunture Cervical and lumbosacral traction Integrated physical therapy modalities. Whiplash If your neck has been suddenly forced beyond its normal range of motion, you likely know the pain of whiplash. Whiplash can occur in an auto accident or from other trauma such as sports injuries or even a hard bump on the head that ended up jarring your neck. Sports Injuries When an athlete becomes injured, there’s so much more involved than the pain and inconvenience of being injured. Athletes rely on their bodies to continue doing what they love to do. A sports injury may slow them down or take them off the field completely. If the injury isn’t treated properly, they may find themselves out of the game permanently. Neck Pain There is a reason why we call situations that annoy us a “pain in the neck.” Neck pain truly is one of life’s annoyances mainly because we are reminded of it constantly in almost every movement we make. It hurts when we are still, when we reach for something or worst of all, when you forget just for a moment and turn your head! Headaches & Migraines We all get headaches from time to time. The pain can range from a dull ache to a severe, throbbing pain. Common headaches are caused by tension, dehydration or lack of food, withdrawal from caffeine and sinuses. All of these headaches are often relieved with time, pain medicines, relaxation or the resolution of the cause (drinking water if you’re dehydrated). Sciatica If you suffer from sciatica, you know the burning, painful sensation that shoots down one or both legs for no apparent reason. The pain is intermittent and at times, debilitating. It can range from a minor annoyance to a painful condition that truly limits you from enjoying life. Herniated and Bulging Discs Herniated and bulging discs can be so painful that you cannot move. They can also produce a dull ache, tingling, burning and even a throbbing type feeling. The pain may be in your neck or low back and is usually felt on one side or the other. Tendonitis & Bursitis If you suffer from bursitis or tendonitis, you know how the pain can range from a minor annoyance to something that keeps you from enjoying your hobbies or activities. The pain is usually noticed upon movement, but it can also create a dull ache or throb that may even wake you in the middle of the night. Shoulder, Arm and Hand Pain It’s nearly impossible to ignore pain in some of our most frequently used body parts such as the shoulders, arms or hands. Painful conditions affecting these areas can make everyday tasks difficult, excruciating or impossible! Adhesive Capsulitis/Frozen Shoulder The medical name for frozen shoulder is adhesive capsulitis. The connective tissue that covers the shoulder joint becomes thick and taut. This causes pain and extremely limited mobility. Tennis Elbow Tennis elbow, otherwise known as lateral epicondylitis, is a painful condition that results from an injury to the outer area of the elbow. The pain may increase and radiate from the outer area of the elbow down the forearm to the back of the hand. Common pain triggers are shaking hands or brushing ones teeth. The wrist area is stabilized during these motions and thus the pain is triggered. Your grip strength may be weakened. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Carpal tunnel syndrome has become a common occurrence due to a huge increase in computer use over the past few decades. It is a condition that often results from repetitive motion such as typing, hammering nails or other tasks that require constant stress on the wrists; however carpal tunnel can also be caused by other factors. Nerve Impingement and Entrapment Your nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord and an intricate web of nerves and neurons that are constantly firing messages throughout the body to accomplish a myriad of tasks such as movement, function and thinking. Hip, Knee & Foot Pain We rely on our legs to carry us places, and when we experience pain in one area of our lower extremities, movement may become difficult, agonizing or impossible. The sooner you address your pain, the better chance you have for a full recovery so you can move through your life, pain free!
