CraneWorks was founded in 1987 by David Upton in Birmingham, Alabama, initially as Reliable Rentals to meet the growing demand for equipment and crane rentals in the region. David was later joined by his brother, Steve Upton, and together they grew the company into a leading regional provider. In 1998, the company rebranded as CraneWorks, focusing solely on crane rentals after selling the equipment rental division.
Over the past 38 years, CraneWorks has expanded its reach, offering operated crane and equipment rental services throughout the Southeast, with offices in Birmingham, Mobile, AL, Nashville, TN, and Decatur, AL. Recognized as one of the top 50 crane companies on the ACT100 Index, CraneWorks continues to provide reliable and safe crane services, further expanding its services with the creation of the RentalWorks division to include general equipment rental.
