Creative Marine Construction, owned by Derek Avis of Winter Haven FL, was hands down the worst company I could have contracted to build my dock.

What was bid as a 4 to 6 week project turned into 4 months, and at the time of writing of this review, the dock is still not complete. During the construction I continually made my payments as contract stipulated. However, the owner continually ran out of money, couldn't pay his employees, and would ask me for more money.

Creative Marine Construction left my dock incomplete by putting tar paper on the roof, but no the metal roofing. A month later, the metal roofing is still not complete, and the tar paper is coming off and the untreated plywood underneath is getting wet.

To top off this horror story, my wife and I are now deployed to Afghanistan and can not get the owner to return emails or phone calls. The glowing references he has on his website are so old its ridiculous. Please take my advice and stay as far away from Creative Marine Construction as you can.
