About us
Deborah B. Horn, DO, MPH, is a board-certified physician committed to the long-term treatment of the disease of obesity. By utilizing the latest technology and medical support, her comprehensive approach to care includes improvement in obesity-associated comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis pain. Horn is committed to individualized patient care, emphasizing balanced, comprehensive treatment. She’s an international leader in obesity medicine.
She’s also an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and the medical director of the UT Physicians Center for Obesity Medicine and Metabolic Performance.
Horn graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, followed by graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her preventive medicine residency at the University of South Carolina and her family medicine residency at Houston Methodist Hospital.
Horn is a former faculty member at the world-renowned Duke University Diet and Fitness Center.
Outside of work, she’s a physical activity enthusiast who enjoys running, indoor cycling, strength training, and paddle boarding.
