About us
Derek Muehrcke, MD, FACS, is a founding partner of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, P.A., in Jacksonville, Florida, where he has practiced since 1996 after leaving The Cleveland Clinic. As Chairman of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Flagler Hospital, he started and developed its successful heart program. His expertise covers adult cardiac, thoracic, and endovascular surgery. Dr. Muehrcke is active in research on myocardial blood flow and reducing post-operative sternal bleeding. He is also an international speaker on bypass graft surgery, focusing on blood flow analysis using intraoperative fluorescence imaging.
