Karen is President and Managing Partner of DeRose Financial Planning Group, a premier independent fee-based financial planning and wealth management firm in Chicago. With over 21 years of experience, she has helped hundreds of clients create the life they value and the legacy they envision.

Karen earned a bachelor’s degree in business with concentrations in accounting and marketing from Barat College. She is a CFP® certificant, and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation. She holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 66 registrations and is licensed in over 20 states.

Karen was the first female Chairman of The Resource Group, which comprises the top 200 financial advisors at Lincoln Financial Advisors. She is a co-founding member of The WISE Group, Lincoln Financial Network’s professional organization of female financial planners, and served as Chairman from 2013 – 2016.

Karen is a member of the Financial Planning Association and a Collaborative Law Fellow. She has appeared on NBC Chicago and was featured in the book, “Women at the Top,” in financial services in 2015. Karen was listed in Chicago Magazine as an “Illinois Five Star Wealth Advisor,” annually since 2010, earned the prestigious Women’s Choice Award® as a top female advisor annually since 2013, was named one of the Twenty Women to Watch by Investment News in 2015 and 2016, was named one of the “Top 13 Financial Advisors in Chicago, Illinois,” by AdvisoryHQ in 2015 and 2016, and received the Circle of Excellence Award from Women in Insurance and Financial Services annually since 2011.

Karen and her husband have two grown sons and reside in Deerfield.
