Dr. Dmitriy Petrov is a highly skilled and dedicated neurosurgeon specializing in spinal surgery and traumatic brain injury, with a strong focus on minimally invasive techniques and surgical innovation. As Director of Neurosurgery, Spine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Dr. Petrov leads efforts to advance the field of spine surgery, employing cutting-edge, patient-centered approaches that improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for individuals facing complex spinal conditions.Dr. Petrov's integration into Northwell Health has expanded access to advanced spinal neurosurgical care across the region, bringing specialized expertise in areas previously underserved. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Following residency, he served as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he contributed to advancing spinal and neurotrauma research and trained the next generation of neurosurgeons.In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Petrov holds a Master's in Healthcare Innovation (MHCI) from the University of Pennsylvania, underscoring his dedication to reimagining care delivery and improving patient outcomes.
